Evaluand continues their partnership with the STEM Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) with a collaborative evaluation of a Design and Development Research study funded by the National Science Foundation, under their IUSE: EHR undergraduate STEM education program. The 3-year STEM Futures project aims to gather evidence about the promise of efficacy of a course design scaffold that integrates foundational, humanistic, and meta-knowledge in STEM learning across the very different institutional contexts of a public land grant university, a public regional university, and an Hispanic-serving institution.

Evaluand is providing comprehensive, independent evaluation support to a National Science Foundation project funded by a grant to the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV), under the Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Program. CMSV was awarded a pilot project to implement and test a model of academic supports incorporating supplemental weekly, one-hour recitation sessions into general chemistry and organic chemistry sequences, implemented in conjunction with a two-week, literature-based guided-research summer project.

Evaluand is providing external evaluation support to the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) for a project funded by an Opportunity Meets Innovation Challenge grant from the New Jersey Secretary of Education's office, with support from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund. The Forensic Science Initiative (FSI) leverages partnerships with the City of Newark and Newark Board of Education to improve, implement, and evaluate a pathway to college through out-of-school time forensic science learning.

Evaluand has been contracted to analyze and report findings from data collected in the delivery of the Watershed Scholars program, an interdisciplinary, graduate-level program of the STEM Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). Funded by the National Science Foundation's Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program, Watershed Scholars are drawn from SIUE's departments of Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Civil Engineering, and provided with support to pursue master’s degrees in STEM disciplines with a research focus on sustainable watersheds.

Evaluand Principal Kirk Knestis is serving on a six-member evaluation advisory board convened to provide critical friend oversight to STEMKAMP, a project of Goshen Education Consulting funded by the U.S. Department of Defense DoD STEM program. This out-of-school time learning program utilizes an interdisciplinary summer day camp model that provides hands-on experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math for Kids of Active Military Personnel (so, STEMKAMP), to inspire and grow STEM talent among dependents of military families attending school in districts near stateside bases.
